Underwater shaker card

For today's project I really wanted to make a shaker card using some underwater stamps from Leane Creatief. I also had a chance to use the new Ergonomic Blending Brush from Nellie's Choice and I loved it!

Let's get started on the card. I first cut two pieces the same size, I used my Nobel Die set CED5525, and on one of the pieces I cut out a oval using the Multi Frame Die Pin Pricked from Nellie's Choice.

For the background I used the ergonomic blending brush to blend three colors of distress oxide ink. Then you can spritz some water onto it removing it with a paper towel this creates a bubble effect for our underwater scene.

Next I stamped out two fish images as well as some seaweed, colored them and fussy cut them, and used them to embellish the front of my card. I also stamped out the sentiment onto a strip of white paper. When your background is dry you can stamp extra images directly onto the background. For my sample I stamped some seaweed back there.

To assemble your shaker you want to cut a piece of acetate larger than your window opening and then adhere it to the back side of that window piece using double sided tape.

Once that is adhered cover the back of the window and acetate piece with foam tape. Make sure to not leave any gaps here so that your shaker bits don't fall out.

Remove the release paper and add your shaker bits. Now because the background piece is the same size as the window piece you simply line up the background to the shaker part and adhere it together. Flip your card base over, add your stamped, colored and fussy cut images to the front of the card as well as your sentiment strip and adhere that all to the card base of 4 1/4 x 5.5 "

I hope you enjoyed this card and give shaker a try. As for the blending brush I think this is a great tool and I look forward to using it more and doing a review on it.

Until next project
