Vintage Christmas Ornaments
I had my eye on this stamp and co-coordinating die set for a while now and I was inspired to paint them using these iridescent watercolors we carry here. The results were amazing especially when painting on dark color paper. These watercolors have mica powder in them so they really shimmer when you paint on dark paper. They came in couple of different pallets and all different shades so you can really play around with the color combinations and have fun with them.
Here is how I put this card together.
Final card size is 5.3/4" x 4.5"
Using the die set double stitched rectangles, cut out two layers in dark navy cardstock.
With the larger rectangle cover the edges with versmark and heat set with bright gold embossing powder.
Using the stamp set Christmas Ornaments from Leabilities, stamp the out line of your ornaments with Versmark Transparent Ink pad and heat set with bright gold embossing powder.
Add the details in the stamp set using versmark and a stamping block. Heat set with gold embossing powder. You can also use a versmark markerpen to add your own decorations onto the ornaments and heat set with gold embossing powder.
Once your ornaments are done cut them out using the co-ordination die set.
Decide where you want to place your ornaments on the smaller of the two rectangle pieces. Using the stamp set, stamp where the string would hang onto the ornaments and heat set with gold embossing powder as well.
Attach the ornaments to the cardstock, i used foam tape to pop them up. Then attach that layer to the larger rectangle with the gold edges. Adhere to your card base.
The picture really doesn't give it justice so give these paints a try and see how beautiful they really are.
Until next project
