Sunflower Thank-you Card

Thanks for joining us for our next free project. This month we will be taking a look at the new sunflower edger die that came in from Creative Expressions. There are so many other designs to choose form but today I'll be working with the sunflower edger die.

I couldn't find the particular shade of yellow paper I wanted to use for the sunflowers so I went ahead and colored my paper using the Versafine Clair Ink in the Cheerful yellow color. Once the ink was dry I ran it thru my cutting machine, and fussy cut out all the sunflowers. Once they were cut out I went in with a darker yellow, golden meadow, and gave the flowers some dimension using my crocodile tool as well as colored the center brown like a sunflower.

I also cut out the edger die from dark green cardstock cut to 6 3/8" x 5". For the sunflower that was a negative cut out I attached a piece of colored yellow paper behind the green edge die cut piece.

just used some regular tape to attach it to the back.

My card base is 6.5" x 5" cut out in white. I wanted the green to be just a bit smaller so that there is a white border left around the green cardstock. I used my Sticky Specks to adhere the dark green die cut to the white card base, and then glued the cut out sunflowers to that.

I used the mini sentiment Many Thanks that has a shadow die cut included and cut out the thanks in green and yellow and added it to the finished card.

I encourage you to try out this great new edger dies and make sure to browse the selection we have in stock for you, there are many designs to choose from and I'm sure you'll find one you like.  There is also a bundle deal on the new edger dies, saving you some money if you like them.

Until next project...
