Quick Disney Birthday Card

Here is a short video blog on assembling a quick and delightful birthday card using Donald Duck. The Disney dies are so multi-dimentional, they can be used outside of a Disney theme, can certainly be used for scrap booking your Disney vacation ... or used to delight the recipient in their favourite Disney character. So easy and yet creates such impact.

I felt the classic Disney characters work so nicely with crisp, bright colours. And for this particular card, because I didn't have an intended recipient, I just wanted to make it neutral. There are 8 layers of colours in this design (you can certainly choose fewer). And instead of cutting out just the "hat" or "feet", I cut the entire die in full 8 times. If you have your design idea firmly etched in your mind, you can just cut the part of the die that is required but cutting the whole die just allows for leeway if you need to swap out colours as you go.

I used the GoPress and Foil hot stamp "Happy Birthday" so here's a video on the GoPress machine, not for this particular card but gives you an idea of the capabilities of this nifty machine!!

There are so many examples of cards using the Disney Dies that it's hard not to be inspired. Another idea I thought of was if your family is going on a Disney vacation, you can use the Marianne Design Puzzle die and your favorite Disney image assembled and cut out in puzzle fashion and the kids have to assemble the puzzle to reveal their gift!
